How do I obtain a passport for my trip?

All US citizens need a US passport when traveling out of the country.

Applications for obtaining new passports and renewal of expiring passports can be obtained from the following Post Office branches serving Ohio’s 10th District: Airport, Main Post Office, Lakewood, Garfield Heights, Parma, Station A, and Westlake.

Passport processing usually takes 6-8 weeks from the date the application is filed. Should you need a passport in less than six weeks, request an expedited application from the post office (there is an expedite fee) and order two overnight envelopes. The expedited passport process generally takes 10 days.

Once you have applied for your passport, my office can contact the Passport Agency in your behalf to check the status of your application and assist in the expediting or you can call the agency yourself at 900.225.5674. There is a small charge for this call, it is not toll-free.

If you would like the help of my office, please print out this authorization form and fax or mail it to my office. If you have any questions, please call my office for more assistance.
